Struck by the urge for a soda, I pulled a dollar out of my wallet, and something caught my eye: tiny lettering, carefully penned in all caps across the top. It struck me as funny, so I thought I'd post something on Facebook. I took a picture with my cell phone:
And typed the following caption:
Was about to put a dollar bill in a vending machine when I noticed the tiny, manic writing across the top: "Where's the birth certificate? ObamaForgery.com". I feel I should add something before I put the bill back into circulation. But what?
Facebook said there was a problem uploading the photo. Photo looked OK to me, but maybe there was something wrong with the image. So I tried to do the same post, sans photo. Facebook questioned my judgment:
Color me embarrassed. FB then gave me the option to explain my shameful actions:
For the reason, I just entered: "If this is about obamaforgery.com, I was making fun of it."
I figured I may as well look at the site, but if it was ever more than vapor, it's gone now. A domain squatter currently owns it, and archive.org had no snapshot of it.
I still haven't figured out what to write on the bill, but I've got some ideas:
- http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2011/04/27/president-obamas-long-form-birth-certificate (obvious, but a bit long)
- Trump couldn't pay the domain registration?
- FAIL
... and so on. If you have a better idea, let me know. And I fully expect that you'll visit me in jail.
