We were listening to the Avett Brothers in the car when 'January Wedding' came on. We wondered about this verse:

And I was sick with heartache
And she was sick like Audrey Hepburn when I met her
But we would both surrender
True love is not the kind of thing you should turn down
Don't ever turn it down

I guessed that this was a reference to Hepburn's portrayal of Holly Golightly. Jenny gave me a quizzical look.

I was surprised. "Really? You've never seen Breakfast at Tiffany's?"

I paused for a moment. "Wow, there's no way of saying that without sounding really gay."
