Turns out the alligator farm wasn't supposed to be a petting zoo.

One of Quinn's favorite Xmas presents. Oh how I wish it had a volume control.
06/23/2007
Shirley's 3rd birthday. The cupcake frosting made for an interesting diaper change later.

Gracie May (left) and Jake, the donkeys my in-laws have inexplicably adopted as pets. However, I look forward to the day when we can put a saddle on one of them and give Quinn a ride. Or maybe rig up a chariot.

We haven't had any measurable snowfall recently, so this is actually a shot of the the boy sitting on the floor of a walk-in freezer at the Wal-Mart.
10/15/2006
He was mildly curious about the pumpkins, but he was definitely wondering why we put him down in the middle of a bunch of dirt and pointed a camera at him.
07/14/2006
What's worse - that he's doing this, or that we felt compelled to capture the moment?
05/28/2006
Quinn's first skateboard ride was on Uncle Dan's longboard. For the record, he didn't fall off, but I'm still fairly sure we're related.
04/21/2006
Quinn used to be a little hesitant of walking on grass, which is no longer an issue. This picture just seems to need a soundtrack.
03/15/2006
Quinn with a friend. It's strange to consider that Quinn was that small not too long ago. I take some comfort in knowing that before long, he'll be big enough to take out the trash.
01/07/2006
If you can't figure out that Quinn is the one in the middle (flanked by his cousins Ashley and Marin), then I think he's going to need that first haircut really soon.
12/27/2005
Quinn recently had a mild ear infection, and was put on amoxicillin, which came with a syringe. Like this isn't a great photo of the lad?
12/23/2005
He's just learned how to stand on his own, so he's probably sizing up the lower branches of the Christmas tree.
11/23/2005
Every now and then I see a sign that I'm passing on some important values to my son, like an innate distrust of Care Bears. (Quinn's cousin Josh demonstrates a high level of patience for an 8-year-old.)
11/12/2005
The city has piled up leaves like this all around our neighborhood, and this pile is right in front of our house. But we figured it was OK to snap this photo, since these are mostly "our" leaves, right?
07/31/2005
Years from now, he'll probably recall this image during a therapy session. But if may prevent him from becoming a "furry," so maybe that's not all bad.
07/17/2005
He's on the verge of crawling... but sometimes he stops to take a nap along the way.
06/16/2005
Quinn rests after killing his first rodent. (OK, it's a plush toy dog.)
06/14/2005
It may look like Quinn's been licking envelopes all afternoon, but this is actually the aftermath of his first meal of solid food. Not that a pasty mixture of rice cereal and milk qualifies as "solid."
03/27/2005
Hold on, I just gotta get myself adjusted before you take the photo... OK, that's good.
02/27/2005
A greeting we put together for a friend of ours. (Who needs Photoshop?) Maybe he's deliriously happy, maybe he's going for the phone to make a call to social services, it's hard to say.
02/12/2005
He must get the coolness from his mom, because it sure as hell ain't from his dad.
02/03/2005
Sleep? Ha, they shall get no sleep tonight. Next, we work to perfect the evil laugh.
01/30/2005
The cute snowsuit. He won't grow into it until spring, but why should that stop us?
01/29/2005
Mom consoles Quinn after his first bath. We can't seem to get rid of that darned "new baby" smell.
01/24/2005
Quinn was a little jaundiced at first, so he was put on a biliblanket to help him lose that George Hamilton look; that's where the blue-green glow comes from. (He's now back to a pasty tone that matches his father.) We thought we might use this photo for the birth announcement, with the caption "Hello from the nuclear family."
